Be Immortal!

By the grace of God,  I am immortal!  I call it my tenth fruit of the spirit- love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control, and immortality!  I refuse to stay down.  I refuse to lose hope.  I will trust God with all my heart.  You can also possess this tenth fruit of the spirit by memorizing scripture and meditating on it day and night!

When memorizing scripture, you shouldn’t just go through the motions.

First, you should ask God to help you to find Him in the scripture.   Prayerfully ask God what He is saying to you through the words. When you study and repeat the words, you should bring your whole self to it.  Ask God for discipline and grace to dedicate time to memorizing scripture. Your life and your relationships will change.  When you use The Hope Method to memorize scripture you are forced to take a little time each day to learn more about what it means to love and to be loved by God.  By using the HOPE method, your faith becomes intrinsic.   You will be able to put aside your anxiety, fear and doubt.  You will be able to focus on God’s word and wait patiently for His promises to be fulfilled.

However, I caution you.  Once you have memorized the word, you must continue to practice getting back up, refusing to lose hope, and trusting in God.  Just as when you practice another fruit of the spirit you get better at it, the same applies to embracing immortality.  You will be tested.  Finally, one day of reflection will bring you to tears.  You will realize that you are a changed person.  You will truly understand phrases like peace that surpasses understanding, dwell in the shelter of the most high.  It’s those phrases that you cannot understand until you have put on the sword of the spirit that leads to a spirit of immortality. Simply put, “You need the sword of the spirit before you can master the spirit of immortality.”
